Kathryn Agarwal, MD
Dr Katy Agarwal is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She serves as Physician Champion and Chair of System Delirium Committee in System Quality and Patient Safety at Houston Methodist and Medical Director for Post-Acute Care for Houston Methodist Coordinated Care. Dr. Agarwal is also the Director of Clinical Implementation for the Southeast Texas Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program.
Dr Agarwal received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where she went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine, Primary Care Track. She completed her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr Agarwal has been a member of regional and national professional organizations, including the American Geriatric Society, the American Delirium Society, and American College of Physicians. She was twice awarded the Geriatric Academic Career Award, which supports the career development of individual junior faculty in geriatrics by the Department of Health and Human Resources. She served as the Delirium Subject Matter Expert for the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Innovations Award from 2012-2016. She was selected and participated in the John Hartford Foundation Practice Change Leaders Fellowship program in 2014-2015 and received an Enhancement Award from Practice Change Leaders in 2016-2017.
