Dr. Shiqian Shen is an anesthesiologist based at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor of Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on neuroimmune interactions using multiomics approaches. His work has eludicated how gut microbiome influences the central nervous system by modulating neuronal function as well as immune cells. His work has been funded by the NIH with multiple grant awards and he will be discussing the role of gut microbiome in postoperative delirium.
