Kerri Maya, RN, PhD(c), MSL, RN, NPD-BC
Kerri Maya is the Director of Continuing Professional Development at Sutter Health, which is a system-level provider of accredited continuing education services for the interprofessional team, and co-leads the system-level Age-Friendly Health System implementation planning for Sutter Health. Previous experience at Sutter Health includes direct care as a critical care nurse and as a Hospital Nursing Supervisor. She received both her master’s degree and doctorate in Nursing Science and Healthcare Leadership from the University of California, Davis with a dissertation focus on implementation science approaches to delirium-protective practice change. Additionally, she holds Graduate Academic Certificates as both a Health Professions Educator, as a former university-level faculty, and in Family Caregiving Support as well as being ANCC board certified in Nursing Professional Development. As a long-term delirium champion, she is an active member in multiple leadership roles in the American Delirium Society, is a regular conference presenter on the topic, and is a published author on the topic including as a co-author of the JAGS article Optimizing delirium care in the era of Age-Friendly Health System. As a certified Implementation Science Support Specialist, her passion is for coaching teams on performance improvement to optimize patient health outcomes.
