Kamal Maheshwari, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology
Kamal Maheshwari MD MPH FASA is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland. He specializes in transplant anesthesia and outcomes research. He is the founding director of the Center for Perioperative Intelligence where research is focused on improving perioperative outcomes. His interests include perioperative outcomes, patient safety, and quality research. He is interested in evaluating the effectiveness of medical interventions – drugs, devices, procedures- in providing high-value healthcare. Specifically, his work is focused on evaluating the role of advanced technologies like predictive algorithms and artificial intelligence in building decision support systems to improve perioperative hemodynamic management. He has led multiple national clinical trials focused on improving perioperative outcomes. He has authored more than 100 peer review papers in leading anesthesiology journals and multiple textbook chapters. He has presented lectures at various national and international platforms, especially in the area of perioperative hemodynamic management and the potential role of predictive analytics and artificial intelligence.
