Kristina Betters is a pediatric intensivist at Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her academic interests include ICU Liberation, ways to mitigate the harmful effects of an ICU stay, pediatric post-intensive care syndrome, and determining methods to support caregivers when their child is critically ill. She created the ICU Liberation Committee (formerly Early Mobility committee) with key stakeholders at her home institution, and is currently serving as Co-Chair for the Society of Critical Care Medicine ICU Liberation Committee. She is co-leading the ADS Pediatrics Special Interest Group. Locally she is an active member of the pediatric delirium research team at Vanderbilt, as well as Co-Chair for the hospital Resuscitation Committee, Sepsis workgroup, and lead member of a hospital wide initiative to prevent clinical deterioration outside of the ICU.
