Heidi Bean has been a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse for 27 years at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt now with her focus spent primarily in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU).  Heidi has had the privilege of educating nurses, residents, physicians, and families from a bedside nursing role and staff leader role on the importance of delirium screening, prevention, and management. She is currently the PCICU nursing representative for the mini-MENDS study-an R01 blinded RCT with primary aim of a prevalence of delirium with patients randomized to either Dexmedetomidine or Midazolam.
