Dr. Shilpa Jain graduated from Brown University with a bachelor of science degree in Neuroscience. She then completed medical school at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, internal medicine residency at University of Pennsylvania, and endocrinology fellowship at Harvard University's Brigham and Women's Hospital. During her fellowship, she conducted research in obesity at Framingham Heart Study with a specific focus on ectopic fat depots. After fellowship, she worked as a clinician educator in the Endocrinology Division at Stanford University School of Medicine. Then, in 2015, she joined the Endocrinology Division at Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation. During her tenure at Sutter Health, Dr. Jain has dedicated her time to building the Sutter Weight Management & Metabolic Center and she serves as its Medical Director. Her medical practice includes all aspects of endocrinology with an emphasis on obesity management and prevention of metabolic complications. Outside of work, Dr. Jain enjoys playing USTA tennis, traveling with her family, and cooking.
