S. Smith, Dr. S. Kendall Smith, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. S. Kendall Smith, M.D., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical and Translational Research and the Division of Critical Care at Washington University in St. Louis Department of Anesthesiology. She completed her undergraduate training in Biology followed by a combined M.D. and Ph.D. in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Kansas. Dr. Smith completed her anesthesiology residency and critical care medicine fellowship through the Academic Career Enrichment Scholars (ACES) Program at Duke University. In 2021, Dr. Smith secured an International Anesthesia Research Society Mentored Research Award to study the role of molecular circadian rhythms in postoperative delirium in older adults. Dr. Smith currently serves as Co-Chair of the American Delirium Society Research Committee.
