Monika Sadlonova
Dr. Sadlonova is Attending Physician and Clinician Scientist at the University Göttingen Medical Center and Research Consultant at Massachusetts General Hospital (Cardiac Psychiatry Research Program). She was a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School between March 2021 and October 2022. Dr. Sadlonova graduated from the fellowship program in Psychosomatic Consultation-Liaison Service (´Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy´, C. Herrmann-Lingen, M.D.) at the University Göttingen Medical Center in Germany in 2020, where she served as staff physician in psychosomatic consultation-liaison service in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (I. Kutschka, M.D.). She obtained training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Lou-Andreas-Salomé Institute in Göttingen, Germany. She currently works as a psychosomatic attending physician in the ICU and cardiac units of the Department of Cardiac Surgery. Furthermore, she is a principal investigator or co-principal investigator of multiple multicenter intervention trials or observational studies in the area of interdisciplinary cardiovascular research. Her clinical and research interests fall within the areas of psychosomatic medicine/consultation-liaison psychiatry/interdisciplinary cardiovascular medicine with special interests in prehabilitation prior to cardiac surgery/procedures, collaborative care in cardiac patients with distress or mental disease, postoperative delirium (risk factors and delirium prevention), and secondary prevention arising in context of cardiac surgery and cardiology.
