Margaret Cahill
Margaret Cahill – Clinical Nurse Consultant – State-Wide Eat Walk Engage Programme.
Practising Registered Nurse since 1985, with extensive experience in Intensive and Acute Surgical Care both within Australia and internationally. Holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing (Advanced Practice) specialising in the care of older patients with cognitive impairment. A passionate believer that within the hospital setting, the primary focus of all health care workers should be on the provision of high quality, person-centred fundamentals of care for all older patients, mitigating the risk of hospital acquired complications such as delirium while supported by appropriate educational opportunities. This perspective has been reinforced through my 9 years of involvement with the implementation science aspect of the Eat Walk Engage program and supporting interdisciplinary teams in my role as an Expert Facilitator for the Eat Walk Engage program, across Queensland. RN. Cert. (ICU – General); B. Sc (Nursing); Dip. Ad. Ed.; M. Asian Studies (Mandarin), M.N.
