Katie Lorain, MPS, ATR-BC, Reiki III is a board-certified Registered Art Therapist, Reiki Master and manager of The CARE Project at UC Davis Health. The CARE Project provides therapeutic and holistic services, interventions, and resources to adult patients admitted to UC Davis Medical Center. As the manager, Katie trains and supervises new therapists, manages Reiki and pet therapy volunteers, provides art therapy and Reiki to patients and their families, and maintains resources and diversional items for the adult inpatient hospital. Katie facilitates Schwartz Center Rounds, promotes and coordinates self-care activities amongst hospital staff and clinicians, and is passionate about enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the hospital-system. Katie coordinated an interdisciplinary team of nurses, mental health workers, and other therapists to create an outline for how assess the therapeutic needs of adult patients and adapt interventions and tools to meet clinical goals. She is honored to present the outcomes of this collaborative effort at the 14th Annual American Delirium Society Conference.
