Krystal Pombo is currently a Clinical Nurse Specialist specializing in geriatrics at Kaiser Permanente, Fresno.  She attended California State University, Fresno for both an undergraduate and graduate degree. She has a master's degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Nurse Educator and is nationally certified as an Adult Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. Through Krystal's years at Kaiser Permanente, Fresno, she has served as the RN lead for the Senior Surgical Program, nursing evidence-based practice (EBP) mentor and coordinator for the Geriatric Committee. She has led EBP efforts on delirium prevention, CAM assessments, sleep quality, geriatric mobility improvement and nursing research on nurse-to-nurse feedback and nurse self-care and resiliency.  Recent publications include a multisite review of external urinary catheter use in the Journal of Geriatric Nursing. Krystal enjoys staff engagement though a variety of educational techniques to encourage nursing evidence-based practice into acute clinical care.
