0343_ABSMC_GR: Peritoneal Dialysis Current Trends and Updates_ Live
Description:
There are an estimated 37 million US adults with Chronic Kidney Disease. Although there are various ways of treatment, peritoneal dialysis (PD) can be an appropriate option for some individuals. Compared to hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis has numerous potential advantages, including simple techniques, generally lower cost, and possibly better survival in patients in the first few years. In this Grand Rounds session, we aim to assess the risks and benefits of peritoneal dialysis compared to other treatment options.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
1. Consider peritoneal dialysis as a treatment option for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
2. Assess the risks and benefits of peritoneal dialysis compared to other CKD treatment options.
3. Reflect long-term quality of life and health outcomes of patients on peritoneal dialysis.
