Mark D. Beck has held various roles within inpatient and academic education for over thirty years.  He has established departments of inpatient education, been a clinical instructor, created new graduate training programs, implemented a hospital-wide theory-based model of care, and help multiple academic roles in a variety of academic institutions.  He is a Caritas Coach™, certified HeartMath Trainer™ and has completed a post-doctorate with Dr. Jean Watson.  He has published on his experience with designing, implementing, and evaluating a theory-based curriculum.  His passion is helping nurses to understand their role in ‘being present’ with patients and families while they accomplish their many tasks.
