Zachary Landman, MD MPH

Dr. Zachary Landman MD MPH is a fellowship-trained and board-certified pain management specialist offering the latest medical and interventional approaches to treating chronic and neuropathic pain, including radiofrequency ablation, spinal and peripheral neuromodulation, and minimally-invasive spine, nerve, and joint procedures. He completed his undergraduate studies at Pomona College, attended medical school at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) where he earned Alpha Omega Alpha honors and was named a Steinhart Surgery Scholar, awarded to the top three students entering a surgical field. He completed his internship in orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School based at Massachusetts General Hospital and a residency in occupational and environmental medicine at UCSF, where he served as Chief Resident. During this time, Dr. Landman conducted research at Harvard Business School (HBS), focusing on team-based care and measuring quality based on patient-centered outcomes, which was also the focus of his Masters of Public Health (MPH) at UC Berkeley. Based on his research and teaching, he was awarded an honorary appointment within the Institute for Strategy & Competitiveness at HBS, and his work has been featured in some of the nation’s top medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Given his desire to provide care to his community, Dr. Landman practiced non-operative musculoskeletal, urgent and sports medicine care medicine within Sutter East Bay Medical Group for nearly 5 years, where he also served in clinical leadership. Inspired by a close family member’s struggle with chronic pain after multiple spinal surgeries, he then completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management within the Department of Anesthesiology at Stanford University, consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top pain management fellowship training programs. Dr. Landman’s goal is to provide the most advanced medical and interventional therapies for chronic and neuropathic pain in a patient-centered, accessible, and caring manner to the East Bay community.
