Jeanne Lahaie, MS, RN, GCNS-BC, PGMT-BC
Jeanne Lahaie has a passion for caring for older adults and earned her way through college caring for those with severe disabilities. After working as a writer, Jeanne followed her bliss to complete her second bachelor’s degree, a BS at Columbia University, followed by an MS in the UCSF Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist program with a minor in Genomics. She was honored with several awards based on academic excellence and after graduation, she proudly accepted a job at the SFVA in the hospice unit. Many of Jeanne’s relatives fought for our country in various conflicts including WWI, WWII, and Korea, and Jeanne is honored to serve our Veterans. Through the VA, Jeanne became an expert in pain management, worked as a pain management CNS at Kaiser, became the president of the ASPMN Bay Area chapter and one of the Geriatric Master Faculty for ASPMN, and is dual board certified as a Geriatric CNS and pain management nurse. Jeanne joined VA Palo Alto as the Extended Care CNS / Dementia Care Coordinator in 2021, where she co-manages the STAR-VA program, serves on the Dementia Committee, chairs the Sleep Committee, and is faculty for ELNEC. When not at work, she loves hiking with her dog Max, biking, reading, and belly-laughing.
