Hesham Zakaria, Bio
Dr. Hesham Zakaria is a highly regarded neurosurgeon specializing in complex spine and oncology surgery. He practices at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and also has affiliations with Seton Medical Center in Daly City. Dr. Zakaria’s path to neurosurgery began with his early acceptance into a BS/MD program at George Washington University, where he achieved membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society due to his academic excellence. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital, where he earned multiple awards for his research contributions, including honors from the Gold Humanism Society and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
After residency, Dr. Zakaria completed a Complex Spine and Spine Oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins under the mentorship of Dr. Nicholas Theodore. His research interests have included machine learning applications in spine surgery, which he presented at the 2023 Spine Summit. Currently, he continues to advance the field through his clinical practice and ongoing research, aiming to improve outcomes for patients undergoing spine surgeries in the Bay Area.
