Following her PharmD degree from the University of Southern California, Dr. Lisa Hammer Rieg completed a post doc fellowship in Antimicrobial Agents and Infectious Diseases at VA West LA/UCLA. She has worked at several academic University Teaching Hospitals on the West and East Coasts, that included appointments at the associated medical and pharmacy schools for her role teaching and mentoring students on antimicrobial therapy and antimicrobial stewardship, both at the bedside and in the classroom. Over the years, Dr. Rieg also has given lectures to Nursing, NP/PA programs and at numerous continuing education meetings. After a 2-year faculty appointment at USC School of Pharmacy, Dr. Rieg made a change in career focus to Health Care System - Infectious Diseases related therapeutics, guidelines and clinical programs 20 years ago! The last 9 years have been with Sutter Health System Office.

Although her experience and knowledge are broad in many areas of antimicrobial therapy, her initial and primary interest is in the area of antibiotic associated resistance.
