Nicholas Drbal, DPM
I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and went to UCLA for my undergraduate studies, graduating in 2008. I then went to Chicago and received my Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2012, before returning to California for my residency training. I completed a 3-year surgical residency at Kaiser SF Bay Foot and Ankle and a 1-year fellowship at Silicon Valley Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship at Palo Alto Medical Foundation. During this time I received comprehensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including deformity correction and reconstruction, trauma, arthroscopy, total ankle replacement, minimal invasive techniques, pediatrics, and diabetic limb salvage.
After training I accepted a position at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation in 2016, where I practice in both the ambulatory and inpatient setting. Hospitals I am affiliated with include Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. I have held leadership positions in my medical group since 2018 and currently serve as Director of Podiatry, Orthopedics, and Pain Management. I also sit on my medical group's Finance Committee, I am member Sutter's Clinical Technology Assessment Council, and I occasionally give guest lectures to Podiatry students at California Podiatric Medical School at Samuell Merritt University.
I am dedicated to providing exceptional care for my patients. Not only do I strive to communicate clearly and honestly, I encourage patients to actively participate in their care and the decision making process. When I am not caring for patients, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3-year old son, travelling, cooking, exercising, and outdoor activities such as golf and scuba diving.
