Description: 

This lunch and learn topic will be on the summary and findings of the Maternal Health Equity Doula Pilot at CPMC in San Francisco. This pilot was made to offer the option of culturally and linguistically concordant doula care, including prenatal care, birth support, and postpartum care for women who historically experience worse birth outcomes.

Learning Objectives

Upon completing this learning activity, participants will be able to:

- Understand real African Americans and Latine patients' experiences working with a doula.

- Identify the benefits of using a doula for Black and Latina patients.

- Predict how the expansion of doula care nationally, has the potential to reduce disparities in clinical outcomes and improve care experiences
