Samuel Ciricillo
Samuel Francis Ciricillo, M.D., FACS, is the recipient of the Upjohn Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine where he was awarded a Robert W. Woodruff scholarship, and the Julius Krevans Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco where he completed his neurosurgical training and pediatric fellowship. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Ciricillo serves as Medical Director of Adult and Pediatric Neurological Surgery at the Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, and is an Attending Surgeon at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children of Northern California. He currently serves as both Department Chair of the Neuroscience Division and as Chairman of the Board of Sutter Medical Group in Sacramento. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. His professional interests include all aspects of pediatric neurosurgery and complex adult intracranial surgery, including endoscopy, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, craniofacial reconstruction, spina bifida, tumor surgery and gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery.
